CHEMISTRY

Key Stage 3 and 4 students are advised to check SENECA and/or Google Classroom REGULARLY for updates.

Key stage 3 students should use their relevant textbook and see:

W drive:\Faculties and Subjects\Science\Chemistry\SHUTDOWN COVER WORK\SHUTDOWN STUDENTS.docx

Use the lists below to review what has already been covered, BUT start from the beginning as revision.

Work through each section, reading, making notes and answering all questions in FULL SENTENCES - completing one double page spread per lesson.

Keep a summary record of each lesson; e.g. Lesson 1: read pages and made notes, answered question 1,2 and 3. Got stuck on Q 4

Year 9

Students should continue to work through Chapter 2, Structure, Bonding and Properties of Matter. Pages 56-91

Year 10

The current topic is not suitable for self-teaching, therefore students should ensure that they review all the fundamental concepts and complete thorough revision of all prior topics taught.

Resources: W:\Faculties and Subjects\Science\Chemistry\SHUTDOWN COVER WORK\GCSE-years 10 and 11

Set 1 and 2: use ‘Separates’ resources.

Set 3 and 4: use ‘Trilogy’ resources.

Revision

See powerpoint labelled “Read Me”. This will show you how to print off the flashcards, so that the answers are on the back, and will give you some different ideas on how to use the flashcards. (If you do not have a printer, then cut up some paper into flashcards, and copy the questions and the mark scheme onto them.)

Make and practice with flashcards to learn the information and answers match the mark scheme on the back. Choose one of the other resources to practice and ensure you understand all of the content covered:

Lesson 1 C1
Lesson 2 C2
Lesson 3 C4
Lesson 4 C5

Year 11

Students should use the W:drive shared area for revision materials, also https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/chemistry-revision/gcse-aqa/

Wednesday 1st of April: Under exam conditions do 2019 Paper 2 exams MOCK. Email evidence to the class teacher to receive the mark scheme.

11XCh2 and 11XCh1

W:\Faculties and Subjects\Science\Chemistry\SHUTDOWN COVER WORK\GCSE- years 10 and 11\Answers Chapter 10 booklet.docx

Write answers to the booklets, keeping a record of each lesson:
Lesson 1

Lesson 2 etc.

Year 12

Students will have work emailed separately.

Year 13

Revision MUST use past papers: https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/chemistryrevision/a-level-ocr-a/

Wednesday 1st of April Paper 3: do this under exam conditions.

Students will have suggested work emailed separately.
